A French tutor in Lausanne, in the heart of the city

The subject that weighs on all the others.

French is not one subject among others: it is the tool of all the others. Understanding an instruction, structuring an answer, writing without losing marks: everything goes through it. At our Lausanne centre we work on the four pillars together, comprehension, spelling, grammar and expression, because none of them progresses durably without the others.

Why French decides so much

What we observe among Vaud students, from primary school to gymnase.

It is everywhere

A misread instruction in maths, a poorly structured answer in history, a badly written report: marks lost “in French” are lost in every subject. Strengthening it strengthens the whole report card.

It is at the heart of Vaud exams

From the ECR to the Year 11 exams and gymnase admission, text comprehension and writing weigh heavily. These exercises are prepared with method, not the night before.

Writing is built

Spelling and composition do not progress by miracle but by regular, corrected practice: write, be corrected, understand the correction, rewrite. That is exactly what the structure of a lesson allows, and what home rarely does.

Results we measure

95%

of our students followed across the year passed their school year in 2025-2026.

Behind that number, a method: initial assessment, tested and supervised teachers, a report after every session, continuous adjustment of the programme.

The method

Four steps, no improvisation

1

The free educational assessment

At the centre, at home or online: it establishes your child’s real level, identifies the origin of the difficulties and leads to a clear recommendation. It takes two minutes to request, with no commitment.

2

A tested teacher, chosen for your child

Every teacher passed a teaching test before their first lesson: mastering the subject is not enough, you must know how to explain it. They are chosen according to the student’s profile, and their work is followed by teaching supervisors.

3

Followed-up sessions, a report every time

In French, every session weaves comprehension, language and expression together: read and understand, correct spelling and grammar on the student’s own texts, then write and rewrite, up to the demands of the ECR, Year 11 exams and gymnase. After each session you receive a written report: what was worked on, what is understood, what remains fragile.

4

A programme adjusted continuously

Teaching supervisors regularly review sessions, reports and progression. If the pace or the teacher does not fit, we adjust: replacement is simple and quick.

Your questions

Frequently asked questions from Lausanne parents

Do you offer a French tutor in Lausanne?

Yes. Our Lausanne centre (Rue Saint-Martin 9, 1003 Lausanne), in central lausanne, offers lessons one-to-one and semi-private, from primary school to secondary II, every day from 8 am to 10 pm by enrolment. Every teacher passed a teaching test before their first lesson.

How much does a French lesson cost in Lausanne?

One-to-one lessons cost CHF 70.– per hour at the single-session rate (80.– at secondary II) and semi-private CHF 50.– per hour per student. Hour packs bring the price down to 48.40 per hour one-to-one and 30.80 semi-private. All rates are displayed on our Pricing page.

Do you give French lessons at home around Lausanne?

Yes: Lausanne, Pully, Prilly, Renens, Épalinges, Le Mont-sur-Lausanne and neighbouring communes, as well as online. The hourly price is the same as at the centre; only travel costs are added at home.

Do you work on spelling and writing?

Yes, that is the heart of our French lessons: spelling and grammar corrected on the student’s own texts, regular practice in text comprehension and composition, with rewriting until the progress holds. All aligned with the Vaud curriculum and its exams.

Can we start mid-year?

Yes, at any time. The free educational assessment establishes your child’s real level and the origin of the difficulties, then the teacher adapts the programme to the remaining milestones: tests, ECR, exams.

How is my child’s teacher chosen?

From the assessment: level, subject, the student’s personality. Every teacher passed a teaching test, their work is followed by teaching supervisors, and you receive a written report after every session. If it does not click, replacement is simple and quick.
