French, in writing and in speech

Reading, understanding, writing, arguing: the language at the heart of all schooling.

French is not just spelling: it is comprehension, written expression, argumentation, method. We work on the language in all its dimensions, following the Vaud curriculum, from primary school to secondary II.

01 · Why it matters

French is much more than spelling

It is the subject that underpins all the others. No one succeeds anywhere without reading, understanding and expressing themselves well.

It governs every other subject

A maths problem misread, an instruction misunderstood: French difficulties often hide behind other grades.

Writing doesn’t come by itself

Structuring a thought, writing it clearly, arguing: these are skills to be trained, not a gift.

Reading is understanding the world

Reading feeds vocabulary, spelling and ease in writing. It can be cultivated, at any age.

Good news: the language is mastered through method and regular practice, word after word, text after text.

02 · Our approach

How we teach French in Vevey and Lausanne

In our canton of Vaud centres, no patching over: we repair the foundations, then build the reflexes.

01

Understanding and producing texts

Reading, comprehension and writing: structuring one’s thinking and putting it down clearly on paper.

02

Mastering the language

Grammar, conjugation, spelling: the rules revisited until they become second nature.

03

Test-taking method

Analysing an instruction, building an answer, managing time: the methodology that makes the difference on test day.

The promise

The language can be mastered.
Word after word, text after text.

Understanding finely, writing clearly, arguing accurately: skills built with method and consistency.
