Academic support in Vevey, next to the station

Every subject, one method, in the heart of your city.

In Vevey, our centre brings together every subject and every format of academic support: one-to-one lessons, semi-private lessons and supervised study, from primary school to secondary II. Our work is not redoing the homework: we look for the origin of the difficulties, correct it, then re-anchor the programme on top, following the Vaud curriculum and its milestones (ECR, Year 11 exams, gymnase admission).

What “academic support” really means at SOS

Three principles we apply to every student, whatever the subject.

We treat the cause, not the symptom

A poor mark is rarely the real problem: it comes from a missing concept, sometimes an old one. The initial assessment traces that origin, and it is what the teacher rebuilds first, before moving forward again.

Every subject, one follow-up

Maths, French, German, English, science: your child can be supported in one or several subjects, with a report after every session. You keep the full picture, without juggling contacts.

The Vaud framework, not a generic one

ECR, VP/VG, Year 11 exams, gymnase admission, maturité: our teachers know the Vaud system and set the work against its real milestones, not a theoretical programme.

Results we measure

95%

of our students followed across the year passed their school year in 2025-2026.

Behind that number, a method: initial assessment, tested and supervised teachers, a report after every session, continuous adjustment of the programme.

Also at home and online

Our teachers travel to homes (Vevey, La Tour-de-Peilz, Corseaux, Corsier, Saint-Légier and neighbouring communes) and also teach online. The hourly price is the same as at the centre; only travel costs are added at home.

We also prepare gymnasium admission and follow students from the Gymnase de Burier, in La Tour-de-Peilz, which serves Riviera gymnasium students, aligned with the ECR, the Year 11 exams (VP/VG) and the Vaud curriculum.

The method

Four steps, no improvisation

1

The free educational assessment

At the centre, at home or online: it establishes your child’s real level, identifies the origin of the difficulties and leads to a clear recommendation. It takes two minutes to request, with no commitment.

2

A tested teacher, chosen for your child

Every teacher passed a teaching test before their first lesson: mastering the subject is not enough, you must know how to explain it. They are chosen according to the student’s profile, and their work is followed by teaching supervisors.

3

Followed-up sessions, a report every time

Whatever the subject, the teacher goes back to the concept that blocks, rebuilds it, then checks that the rest of the programme holds on top, up to the ECR, Year 11 exams and gymnase admission. After each session you receive a written report: what was worked on, what is understood, what remains fragile.

4

A programme adjusted continuously

Teaching supervisors regularly review sessions, reports and progression. If the pace or the teacher does not fit, we adjust: replacement is simple and quick.

One-to-one lessons cost CHF 70.– per hour at the single-session rate (80.– at secondary II) and semi-private CHF 50.– per hour per student. Hour packs bring the price down to 48.40 per hour one-to-one and 30.80 semi-private. All rates are displayed on our Pricing page.

Yes: Vevey, La Tour-de-Peilz, Corseaux, Corsier, Saint-Légier and neighbouring communes, as well as online. The hourly price is the same as at the centre; only travel costs are added at home.

My child needs help in several subjects: is that possible?

Yes. Academic support at SOS is not limited to one subject: the same student can work on maths, French and German, one-to-one, semi-private or in supervised study, with a report after every session and a programme adjusted continuously.

Can we start mid-year?

Yes, at any time. The free educational assessment establishes your child’s real level and the origin of the difficulties, then the teacher adapts the programme to the remaining milestones: tests, ECR, exams.

How is my child’s teacher chosen?

From the assessment: level, subject, the student’s personality. Every teacher passed a teaching test, their work is followed by teaching supervisors, and you receive a written report after every session. If it does not click, replacement is simple and quick.
